NSBBS Logo

NOTE: I am in the middle of reorganizing all of my websites into a single website. Please use nsbbs.darktech.org now as nsbbs.info is no longer in use and I will be removing cheepware.info soon.

You've reached the web home of Nocturnal State BBS. This is also the personal website of a certain Sean Dennis, who happens to be the author of Cheepware, co-author of TinyTIC and the sysop of Nocturnal State BBS. There's some good stuff here and I hope you'll find what you're looking for.

If you're wanting to connect to the BBS, point your favorite ANSI-capable telnet client to nsbbs.darktech.org. If you don't have a telnet client, may I recommend the following terminal programs:

  • mTel (for Win32 and OS/2, freeware)
  • Syncterm (for Win32, Linux, *BSD, and OS X, freeware)
  • Zap-O-Comm (for Win32 and OS/2, shareware)

Do NOT use a MUD/MOO client, such as SimpleMU, Pueblo, SMud, ZMud, et al., to connect to the BBS. These programs will not interpret the BBS's ANSI codes correctly and they do not provide a file transfer protocol (such as ZModem) if you want to download/upload anything.

NOTE: Please be aware that I do ask all new callers for "real life" personal information, such as your real name, address, phone number, email, et al. As a caller to my board, you're coming into my home and I feel I have the right to know who's visiting my home. Wouldn't you feel the same way?

Nocturnal State BBS is the home of Micronet Information Network.    All about Pac-Man...
